To provide a smooth expense-sharing utility, SettleBro collects:

  • Profile Information: Your name, mobile number, and email address keyed in during onboarding.
  • Device Contacts: With your explicit permission, SettleBro accesses your device's address book to allow you to quickly select and add members to your groups or record expenses with individual friends. SettleBro does not upload your entire contacts database to our servers; contacts are accessed locally on your device solely for selection.
  • Ledger & Group Data: Titles of groups, expense descriptions, dates, amounts, and member lists that you input.
  • Technical & Analytical Data: Non-personal application logs, device model details, operating system version, and crash report data to help us debug and optimize performance.

    We utilize the collected information strictly for the following purposes:

  • To synchronize, recalculate, and display group ledger balances among designated members.
  • To provide reliable application features, including offline updates and data back-ups.
  • To analyze anonymous performance logs to resolve crashes and improve the user interface.
  • To communicate essential system notifications and respond to customer support requests.

    Your group ledgers and balance histories are visible only to the members of the groups you create or join. SettleBro maintains a strict policy: we never sell, rent, trade, or distribute your personal information or transaction details to third-party marketing companies, brokers, or advertisers. We will only disclose information if legally required to do so by governing public authorities.

    5. Data Retention & Deletion

    We retain your group details and profile information as long as your account remains active to preserve your balance history. You may request the deletion of your account or the removal of individual groups at any time by contacting us, which will permanently clear your ledger history from our active databases.

    6. Data Encryption & Security

    All communications between the SettleBro application and our synchronization servers are protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols. We implement industry-standard database encryption and backend protections to secure stored information against unauthorized access.

    7. Children's Privacy

    SettleBro is not designed or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided profile information, we will delete it immediately from our servers.
